This morning on CNN, I found it interesting that one of the field reporters was doing the "bobble head" I train my clients not to do. As the news anchor was asking the reporter a question, the reporter was nodding her head yes to let the anchor know that she understood the question. However, it appeared as if she was saying yes to the question when in fact, her answer was a definitive no.

It made me laugh, to see that even the best trained news people make the mistakes I spend so much time training my clients to avoid.

Interview tip: When you are being interviewed in any situation, resist the temptation to nod your head yes to let the interviewer know you understand the question. It can be challenging because many of us have developed the habit of nodding our heads when we understand what is being asked of us.
