Be…Do…Have Mindset versus Have…Do…Be…Mindset
Posted by: | CommentsWhich comes first - Be or Have? It is a matter of your success mindset…
Many entrepreneurs believe that when they are successful, they will be able to have what ever they want, do whatever they want and be whatever they want.
Well, let’s turn that upside down.
- BE…Starting today, be whatever or whoever you want to be. But first, you must know who or what you want to be. Your vision must be clear and should encompass your personal and professional life. Spend some time brainstorming. Then just be who you are meant to be.
- DO…Next, what would you do if your already were who or what you want to be? How would you act? What would you do? Who would you connect with? Begin doing that, today!
- HAVE…Last, once you start being who you want to be and doing what you want to do, the things you most want to have will become part of your life.
I can hear you thinking…this is way too simple. It is simple but it is also complex. Focusing first on being will shift your mindset so that your greatest expectations can be met without resistance.

What are the Four Most Dangerous Words for Your Business?
Posted by: | CommentsI’ll bet you hear, you say or you think these four words every day. Probably several times every day. And, I’ll bet you don’t even realize it. Nor, do you realize how dangerous they are for your business growth and success.
Want to know what these word are?
“I already know that!”
Simple but powerful words. It is the only phrase I know of that has the uncanny effect of stopping us from hearing, much less, comprehending what is being said next. These words act like a virtual “listening off” switch.
Many years ago, I learned that when I hear myself think or say “I already know that,” it is time for me to pay close attention to what is said next. There is always a nugget of information that I need to know coming my way.
I challenge you to adopt this tactic… The next time you think “I already know that,” stop and listen with a different attitude and from a different perspective. Ask yourself these questions:
- What did I do with this information the first time I heard it?
- What am I not hearing?
- What is being said behind what is being said?

Entrepreneur: Are You a CEO or Not?
Posted by: | Comments
Entrepreneurs often struggle with the CEO title…
During a recent conversation with an executive coach, I was surprised to hear her refer to a CEO of a well-known company with awe. It occurred to me that this coach did not feel as if she were the CEO of her own venture.
The conversation got really interesting when we talked about her being the CEO of her business and being on the same level as CEOs of other companies. She had never really thought about her business in those terms but began to see lots of possibilities.
This line of thinking is not unusual. For many entrepreneurs, to feel as if they are CEO of their business requires a paradigm shift in thinking. They first have to see their business as a separate entity that they run – just like the Fortune 500 companies. Once this shift occurs, there is usually a significant increase in confidence and credibility which is reflected in all aspects of the business.
So, here’s your challenge:
- Adopt the mindset “I am the CEO of my business.”
- Act like a CEO doing business by declaring your new role.
- Observe the shift in how other business professional react to your new mindset.
