Voted Yet?

I voted early and am now glued to the election coverage - mainstream media and online media.

No matter which party is elected, our White House leadership team will be different from any previous elected team. Refreshing? Yes! Interesting? Yes! Significant? Yes!

Almost as significant as the make up of the new White House, is the transformation of the media coverage of the election. Every mainstream media outlet has embraced new media integrating it into the fabric of their coverage. A perfect example is the use of Ireporters on CNN. CNN is soliciting voters to feed Ireports to the CNN site and are doing live "man on the streets" interviews with many of them. What an opportunity for new media producers.

And, what an opportunity for observers of the coverage. We get to see and hear unfiltered personal perspectives of what is going on from every cross road in the country. Now, that is interesting. And, without the use of new media, cost prohibitive for the mainstream media.

Does the acceptance of new media by mainstream media make it more legitimate? You bet it does!

However, as I have said before, it is all just media.

Now, if you haven't yet voted, Go Vote Now!
