What does it really mean to turn pro?

The answer might surprise you.

It means to make $1 from any activity - for example, speaking, writing, decorating, golfing, or selling cupcakes. Once you make one dollar, you are no longer an amateur, you are a professional at the activity in which you make that dollar. On the other hand, if you make no money from an activity, you are a hobbyist.

Most marketers want to be part of the million dollar club or at least the six figure club. Therefore, they put most of their energy and focus on that end goal. And, they want it to be easy and fast. There is no wonder that we see new 'make a million dollars without any effort offers' almost daily.

However, the quickest way to make the big bucks is to focus on the first dollar - making it the easiest and fastest way possible.

It takes more energy to make the first dollar than the next $99,999. It has been estimated that going from idea to making the first dollar takes two or three times as much energy than it takes to go from making one dollar to making a million dollars.

To make the first dollar, all of the systems and infrastructure must be put in place and that is where the energy is consumed. Once the system is up and running, revenues can build quickly and with less effort.

In my opinion, it is best to spend your time, energy and resources to make your first dollar. And, the rest will follow. So, if you haven't already made your first dollar, go do it now.
